Dear Readers,
Believe it or not, we’ve entered the final month of 2017. While many of you are looking forward to rest and holiday madness, I am looking to finish my manuscript.
NaNoWriMo came and went and I barely reached the halfway mark. Be that as it may, I will not stop writing (every month is “writing month” to a writer).
I found that trackers keep me honest. While word count trackers have their down sides, the sense of progress (or even, the sense of accountability) can be useful to some. At least, it is to me.
December Writing Challenge
I have challenged myself to add 50,000 words to my manuscript’s word count. There will be edits, rewrites, and deletions during this time, but I’ll only take my end-of-day number into account.
After some clean-up (there was over 100 pages of notes, soundbites, character info, etc. at the bottom of the document), the manuscript stands at 71,617 words. This number will be zeroed effectively – if you know what I mean.
I will post regular updates of my progress on the blog. I will also keep track of the number of hours I write – aiming for at least two hours a day.
Any Takers?
Anyone willing to take up the challenge? Let me know in the comments below.
I would also appreciate some feedback: what kind of content would you like to see on the site?
I am planning to upload some of my short stories and a review or two within the next week. Let me know what you think.
Your website is coming along quite nicely. Well done and good luck.
